This paper aims to explore the use of Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring in multiple nursing environments such as patient satisfaction, palliative care and postoperative care. Based on six qualitative studies published between 2020 and 2024, the review focuses on how the theory was implemented and the effects it had on the outcome of subjects’ emotional well-being, as well as the development of trust and comprehensive care. Evidence confirms the theory’s versatility and applicability in practice and exposure to other challenges such as cultural bias, stigmatization and functionality hurdles. Recommendations are increasing the training, interdisciplinary implementation, and culturally appropriate modifications to apply Watson’s concepts for the modern nursing profession.
