Bangladesh has made remarkable progress in many sectors and womenWomen of the garment sector of the country are experiencing various forms of domestic violenceDomestic violence in their lives such as physical assault, forced sex, psychological pressure and economic abuse. The readymade garment sector of Bangladesh provides enormous economic benefit to the poor womenWomen and men also. Many womenWomen workers become unable to make proper uses of these benefits due to being the victims of violence in their personal lives. The present study put an effort to explore the factors associated with domestic violenceDomestic violence of women garment workersWomen garment workers and the subsequent impacts on their career and work lives in the Dhaka cityDhaka city of Bangladesh. This study is based on the interviews of womenWomen workers who have experiences of violence in the surveyed area. The sample size was selected purposively from the factories of the study sites. The key informant interviews provided important information to the researchers to identify the violence of womenWomen workers from the surveyed factories. This study addressed the issues relating to the domestic violenceDomestic violence against women garment workersWomen garment workers in Bangladesh and also proposed coping strategies. Domestic violenceDomestic violence is causing a great deal of physical and psychological difficulties for many womenWomen who work as garment workers.
