Hair Disorders and Artificial Intelligence
摘要
Hair and scalp disorders affect a great number of patients, causing a significant psychosocial burden. Trichoscopy, the gold standard diagnostic tool in the evaluation of hair disease, may be integrated with complex AI and learning machines to result in ultimately improved new models of clinical evaluation, and treatment planning and observation. In this way, diagnostic precision, as well as personalized medical plans of action, is possible for large datasets of patients. Despite the impressive advances, there are clinical limitations. Notably, the world is at the doorstep of a new era in medicine, and the future is expected to bring more research on the topic of AI in hair disorders, with improvements on existing models, and guidelines on clinical, as well as ethical matters.
