Critical thinking has been and is one of the most important human abilities, it must be developed and nurtured not only for personal, but also for social well-being. Due to the diversity of concepts and notions, it is difficult to understand what critical thinking is. The article aims to discuss the concept of critical thinking and highlight the importance of education in management towards sustainable and responsible decisions. This is done based on critical thinking research, which reveals the features of a critically thinking personality, the thinking process and the result of its assessment. The scientific discoveries and insights of foreign authors are supplemented by the conclusions of a critical thinking study conducted in Lithuania, which confirm the importance. It became clear that the world needs managers who are critical thinkers, able to communicate, understand problems, make decisions and adapt to a new environment.
