Contextual Intelligence: Co-creating AI-Enabled AgeTech for Elderly Populations in Singapore and Finland
摘要
This chapter advances cultural robotics research by introducing a participatory framework for developing AI-enabled AgeTech that prioritizes contextual intelligence—the integration of cultural values, relational care practices, and community-specific needs into robotic and AI systems. Focusing on Singapore and Finland, we address the global challenge of ageing populations through a humanistic lens, emphasizing the role of cultural context in designing technologies that are both sustainable and ethically sound. By leveraging generative AI tools and multi-stakeholder co-creation methodologies, we demonstrate how adaptive frameworks can bridge the gap between technical innovation and culturally embedded caregiving practices. Our findings, derived from case studies and participatory design research, highlight the necessity of ethical hubs and AgeTech fact labels to ensure transparency and combat digital ageism. The chapter concludes with a guiding model for humanistic AI AgeTech innovation, offering actionable insights for policymakers and technologists working at the intersection of cultural diversity and design of embodied AI.
