Port state control contains the inspections and regulations implemented by port states on foreign vessels visiting their ports, intending to ensure safe maritime transportation and prevent ship-related marine pollution. The port authorities may delay the ship until the identified deficiencies are rectified in order to ensure safety and minimize the potential for environmental contamination. However, along the way, the number of ships detained did not significantly decrease because many shipping companies still did not comply with regulations. Therefore, in this research, modeling was carried out using binary logistic regression to find out what factors influence the decision to detain a ship at the port so that it can be given special attention. As for this research, the level of damage to the ship, the level of safety, the level of environmental damage, and the level of expertise of the captain were predictor variables. It was found that the variables were the level of safety and the level of environmental damage, which greatly influence ship detention at the port, with an accuracy level of 80%, so special attention must be paid to these variables.

摘要
