The digital transformation presents companies with complex challenges, particularly in the area of employee training. This paper examines key barriers to the implementation of effective training concepts and analyzes practical solutions. Through a combination of in-depth literature research and expert interviews, key barriers are identified, including a lack of strategies for skills identification, inadequate documentation practices and a lack of management understanding of necessary qualifications. The results show that individualized training offers, internal knowledge exchange formats and the targeted use of managers in competence assessment are decisive for the success of further training. In addition, a concept matrix is presented that supports companies in the selection of suitable training models.
