The Impact of Digital Transformation on the Efficiency of Electronic Accounting Systems in the Civil Status Department
摘要
The study seeks to assess the influence of digital transformation, encompassing its dimensions of strategy, electronic payment, and the activation of the Sanad application, on the efficacy of electronic accounting systems within the Civil Status Department in Jordan. This assessment specifically focused on the dimensions of accuracy and speed of completion, the reduction of human errors, and data integration. To fulfil the study’s objectives, the researchers designed a questionnaire comprising 33 items. The target population consisted of employees and reviewers including 50 male and female employees. Additionally, the daily number of reviewers fluctuates between 350 and 450. A simple random sampling method was employed, resulting in the distribution of 350 electronic questionnaires. Out of these, 237 were returned, all deemed valid for analysis, representing 68% of the study sample. The findings indicated a statistically significant impact at the significance level (0.05 ≥ α) of digital transformation across its various dimensions—strategy, electronic payment, and the activation of the Sanad application—on the efficiency of electronic accounting systems, which includes aspects such as accuracy and speed of completion, reduction of human errors, and data integration within the Civil Status Department. Furthermore, the study revealed that the level of digital transformation in the Civil Status Department is approximately 70% across the examined dimensions. Consequently, the study recommends the enhancement of digital transformation technologies to improve the services provided by the Civil Status Department in Jordan, with particular emphasis on activating the Sanad application. It also highlights the importance of improving the skills and capabilities of both employees and clients in utilizing modern digital and technological systems by offering the necessary technical support to facilitate their effective use of these technologies.
