The analysis of phase-change materials (PCMs) for thermal energy storage, in particular through differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), is the subject of this study. Two different techniques, heat flux DSC and power compensation DSC, were compared. The results reveal significant differences in crystallization temperature measurements between these two methods. Despite the challenges of reproducibility of results between instruments, this research highlights the crucial importance of accurate measurements for effective characterization of PCMs. The need for meticulous and continuous analysis is thus underlined in order to improve the reliability of thermal studies of PCMs, fundamental for their effective application in thermal energy.

摘要
