Gender and Climate Change: Transdisciplinary Reflections
摘要
At the end of the project that inspired this volume the researchers wrote short reflective pieces on their experiences of transdisciplinary research. These reflections have been used to frame this chapter, which focuses on collaboration across cultures. This chapter provides commentary and summarises the learnings on gender and climate change from the project. It highlights the need for multi-agency collaboration and to include local women’s agencies in climate solutions. Addressing the impacts of climate change in Indonesia requires transdisciplinary collaboration that bridges the gap between scientific research, policy and community-based knowledge. Academics must work alongside local women’s groups, who hold critical insights into resource management, adaptation strategies and social resilience. Including these groups ensures that solutions are both culturally relevant and grounded in lived experience. Such collaboration not only strengthens the effectiveness of climate responses but also promotes equity and inclusive sustainability.
