Climate Finance and Inclusive Growth in Africa: Challenges and Policy Perspectives
摘要
Climate finance involves mechanisms for funding climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts. It includes financing actions that address climate change at local, national, or international levels. Funds may come from public, private, and other sources, consolidated to support initiatives aimed at mitigating and adapting to climate impacts. As a global priority, climate finance facilitates international cooperation to address climate change, supports decarbonisation strategies, and aligns with net-zero transition goals. It plays a crucial role in advancing Goal 13 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This chapter discusses the importance of climate finance and to examine how it promotes inclusive growth in Africa. Specific issues covered in this chapter include climate finance: concepts and mechanisms; the landscape of climate finance in Africa; climate finance and inclusive growth nexus; and challenges of climate finance and inclusive growth. The chapter also discusses the policy perspectives on climate finance and inclusive growth.
