Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that leads to painful lesions, abscesses, and sinus tracts. Proper wound care in this patient population still remains a challenge. The anatomic location of lesions, risk of infection, and recurrence, among many other factors, play a role in the complex nature of this condition. In this chapter, we aim to review different types of available dressings, including antimicrobial, hydrocolloids, alginates, over-the-counter, and negative pressure wound therapy.

摘要

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that leads to painful lesions, abscesses, and sinus tracts. Proper wound care in this patient population still remains a challenge. The anatomic location of lesions, risk of infection, and recurrence, among many other factors, play a role in the complex nature of this condition. In this chapter, we aim to review different types of available dressings, including antimicrobial, hydrocolloids, alginates, over-the-counter, and negative pressure wound therapy.
