Sustainable Logistics in Healthcare: Addressing Environmental Challenges and Optimizing Medical Supply Chains for a Greener Future
摘要
The topic of this article is the increasing significance of the sustainable reverse logistics solutions in the healthcare industry considering the trends for lowering carbon footprint and maximizing resource utilization on the global level. The key research question focuses on how far existing solutions will enable environmental problems to be solved and medical supply chain performance enhanced. In order to answer this question, a quantitative method was used and the participants comprised 200 healthcare practitioners. In PCA and SEM analyses, the behaviors underpinning the major components affecting general performance were determined. The results reveal that, the implementation of green technologies and improving the efficiency of medical transport are critical success factors in managing the carbon footprint and the operational cost of the supply chain that indicate necessity of moving towards more sustainable health care operations.
