Equivalent Synoptic Wind to Interpret Non-synoptic Wind Effects on Vertical Slender Structures
摘要
This paper proposes a novel definition ofVertical slender structures Equivalent Synoptic Wind (ESW) as a tool to interpret and compare the non-synoptic windNon-synoptic wind-induced effects on vertical slender structuresVertical slender structures. The ESW is defined as the synoptic wind that produces the same structural effect recorded during a non-synoptic event. The ESW parameters are retrieved with an inverse procedure based on a well-established analytical modelAnalytical model for synoptic wind-induced response of slender vertical structures. The proposed procedure is applied to a real vertical lighting pole, whose dynamic response has been monitored continuously by means of accelerometers and strain gauges. The statistical parameters characterizing the ESW events are presented and compared with the ones of real synoptic wind records.
