CFD-Assisted Design of Canopy in Complex Urban Environment: Case Study
摘要
TraditionCFD-assisted design canopyCanopy designComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) processCanopy is one-way: from architects to structural engineers and finally to wind engineers. Based on a specific project which is a canopyCanopy surrounded by four towers in Shanghai, this paper aims to provide a generic CFDComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)-assisted design process of canopyCanopy in complex urban environment. Initially, after determining the canopy’sCanopy location, the wind field is evaluated to optimize architectural zoning and the arrangement of artworks. By integrating CFDComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) wind load distributionWind load distribution results with form-finding and material selection, a better balance between structure design and wind analysis can be achieved. Lastly, for the structure design and façade design in the following design stage, wind load distributionWind load distribution of canopyCanopy in two phases have been compared to ensure structure stability.
