The Effect of an Increased Ground Clearance on Peak Wind Loads on a Single-Axis Solar Tracking System
摘要
The effect ofWind loads anGround clearance increasedSingle-axis tracking system ground clearanceGround clearance on peak wind loadsWind loads on a single-axis PV-tracking system is investigated. Boundary layer wind tunnel measurementsWind tunnel measurements were conducted for ratios of mean height to chord length of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.1 and at tilt angles of 0°, 10°, 30° and 60°. Torque and normal force acting on the rows were calculated as equivalent-static pressure coefficientsPressure coefficients and dynamic amplification factors. Results show a complex behaviour with increases in wind loadsWind loads of up to 150% and a strong dependency on tilt angle, with high tilt angles being subject to the largest increases. Furthermore, these tilt angles also experience a drastic change in dynamic wind loadWind loads components.
