Now is the time to embrace transformative change in engineering education by implementing innovative approaches that enhance student learning and engagement. First, adopting an integrative approach allows engineering faculty to cultivate the entrepreneurial mindset among students without necessitating the creation of new courses or additional credits, thereby addressing the constraints of already full curricula. Second, employing a perspectives-taking approach, which emphasizes exploring engineering design from a transdisciplinary viewpoint, can broaden participation in the field by fostering a more inclusive, student-centered focus. Finally, disseminating the findings through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) will contribute to a deeper understanding of effective educational practices and promote continuous improvement in engineering pedagogy. Collectively, these strategies represent a significant opportunity to reshape engineering education and better prepare students for the evolving demands of the profession. This chapter provides an overview of how to apply an integrative approach to developing students’ entrepreneurial mindset as a way to improve teaching and learning in engineering, and provides motivation for coupling such integration with bio-inspired design and the arts.

摘要
