Building on the perspectives-taking approach presented in Part III, this chapter shifts from understanding the approach to actively applying it in practice through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). SoTL is a is a field of academic inquiry and practice focused on researching, understanding, and improving teaching and learning in higher education. SoTL encompasses a wide range of activities, including conducting research on teaching methods, assessing student learning outcomes, exploring the effectiveness of educational technologies, and investigating the impact of various instructional strategies on student engagement and success. Engaging in SoTL involves rigorous inquiry grounded in disciplinary knowledge and pedagogical theory. Faculty members, instructional designers, educational researchers, and other professionals in higher education engage in SoTL to enhance their teaching practices, contribute to the scholarship of their disciplines, and promote evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning. This chapter provides an overview of the SoTL Accelerator, a free online resource available at https://www.sotlaccelerator.com/ , which guides engineering educators through the SoTL process of curriculum development, assessment, and dissemination.

摘要
