Supernova cosmology for Nobel laureates
摘要
Less than ideal standard candles in practice, SN Ia observations need to be extensively processed so that their brightnesses are usable for precise cosmological distance measurements. This chapter presents the traditional method(s) of (physical and) empirical SN Ia standardisation, as well as the widely used strategy for accounting for the relevant uncertainties, which is fundamentally flawed in the hierarchical setting at hand.
