Are We Witnessing a Racial De-alignment?
摘要
Barack Obama won 94 percent of the Black vote in 2008 and 93 percent in 2012. He also carried over 65 percent of the Hispanic vote in both elections. The Democratic Party appeared to have the non-white vote locked in at historic levels at the same time that non-white Americans were projected to make up a larger share of the electorate with each passing year. Party optimism only grew when Donald Trump emerged as the 2016 Republican nominee.
