Introduction to Geodiversity and Indian Trans-Himalaya

This chapter introduces the concept of geodiversity and its relevance to nature conservation. It highlights the neglect of abiotic components in conservation discourse and discusses the complex relationship between geodiversity, biodiversity, and human response. It also sets the research framework for the study, outlines the objectives, research problem, study area, and methodology, establishing the foundation for understanding geodiversity within the Indian Trans-Himalaya.
