A change from conventional methods to more conscientious alternatives is needed in order to provide healthy, secure and easily accessible food with the least possible negative effects on the planet. The significance of sustainable food production technology in supplying the world’s food needs while tackling worldwide environmental issues will be addressed in this chapter article. Precision farming, vertical farming, fogponics, hydroponics, and aquaponics are among some of the important technologies. By collecting data on soil and water fluctuations and improving techniques like planting, fertilizer and irrigation, precision farming leverages technology to increase farming efficiency. Additionally, nanotechnology is becoming recognized as another technique that has the potential to restructure agriculture by offering effective and sustainable solutions for resistance to diseases, crop development and nutrient regulation. Lastly, plant-based, cultured meat, dairy products, mycoprotein and microalgae are examples of future food trends that have surfaced as a sustainable substitute for conventional meat production. It is essential to use the aforementioned technology into farming methods in order to accomplish several Sustainable Development Goals.

摘要
