This chapter gives an overview of arguments against the need for criteria of demarcation between science and pseudoscience, including Laudan’s article announcing the demise of the demarcation problem. It then argues for a link between scientism (the overflow of science into ideology) and technocratic political power. Finally, it reaffirms the need for a clear line of demarcation between science and ideology.

摘要

This chapter gives an overview of arguments against the need for criteria of demarcation between science and pseudoscience, including Laudan’s article announcing the demise of the demarcation problem.
