Enhancement of Spatial Resolution in High-speed Neutron Imaging Using a Multi-slit Collimator
摘要
A multi-slit collimator system, which is effective for enlarging imaging area with high spatial resolution, has been demonstrated at the Thermal Neutron Radiograph Facility at JRR-3 in JAEA. The developed multi-slit is made of a cadmium plate, with 1mm-wide slits arranged at 2 mm intervals. The neutron beams emitted from each slit spread radially depending on the collimation of the incident neutrons, so the distance between the converter multi-slits was adjusted to optimize it for the neutron beam used. The effectiveness of the multi-slit was confirmed using the standard indicator for the J-PARC, and the beam collimation and image defects caused by the slits were demonstrated. In addition, a multi-pinhole system was also demonstrated by using double multi-slit collimators.
