Scintillation materials, excited by capturing of neutrons are the keys to obtain “shadow images” from observed materials as the basis of neutron imaging technologies like neutron tomography, real-time-imaging or grating neutron interferometry. Although the most promising material combinations have been known for a long time already, there is potential for further improvements in the selection of material combinations, manufacturing processes and adaptation to the sensor devices. We present the currently available range of commercially available products and give an outlook to further potential materials, including their application fields.

摘要

Scintillation materials, excited by capturing of neutrons are the keys to obtain “shadow images” from observed materials as the basis of neutron imaging technologies like neutron tomography, real-time-imaging or grating neutron interferometry. Although the most promising material combinations have been known for a long time already, there is potential for further improvements in the selection of material combinations, manufacturing processes and adaptation to the sensor devices. We present the currently available range of commercially available products and give an outlook to further potential materials, including their application fields.
