In 2010, the Israeli Television Academy award for best drama series was awarded to Prisoners of War. Employing a compelling screenplay and a polished aesthetic, the series followed two Israeli former prisoners of war, who return home after 17 harrowing years in Syrian captivity, as they cope with their families and with the intelligence community that oversees their reintegration into Israeli society. As a central element of the narrative, the two are subjected to a series of interrogations conducted by a relentless military psychiatrist.
