Since the influence spread is \(\#P\) -hard in the IC and the LT models, that is, it is unlike to have a polynomial-time approach to compute the influence spread, which provides a platform for Monte Carlo Methods to play. In this chapter, we study fundamental knowledge related to Monte Carlo methods and the social influence.
