The Productivity Paradox: Job Crafting in the Context of Generative Artificial Intelligence

Gen AI, due its unique capability has restructured traditional work and presented different approaches to make work better. This paper seeks to examine how job crafting with Gen AI influences performance. When GenAI is used by employees to craft their jobs, it enhances their trust and reliance on the technology. This increased dependency may impact both individual and team performance, however this would be contingent on organisation's support of AI adoption and their overall commitment to values of the organisation.
