Medical Images Fusion Using Signal Decomposition Methods and Implementation on an Embedded Platform

In this work, we have presented the fusion of medical images obtained by different modalities via 2D-compact variational mode decomposition with the fusion rule using local energy maxima. The proposed work is compared with other available algorithms using the standard performance parameters available. Comparison shows better results of the proposed method with the available algorithms. The proposed method is also realized on the embedded platform. The practical results are also presented. In this paper, we have also presented the computational complexity of variational mode decomposition.
