Nurses can submit shift requests and off-day applications online from any location, while the Head Nurse manages scheduling through an interactive drag-and-drop interface that provides immediate feedback and real-time notifications. The system aims to improve transparency, reduce scheduling conflicts and streamline administrative tasks. Developed using the Agile framework, NurseShift was designed with UML diagrams, flowcharts and data flow diagrams and implemented using HTML, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL. Key features include secure user authentication, dynamic shift request management, automated conflict detection, visual schedule planning and administrative report generation. The system architecture emphasizes usability, reliability and scalability ensuring adaptability to the dynamic needs of healthcare environments. This paper discusses the system’s conceptual design and development as a prototype-driven solution to manual scheduling inefficiencies. NurseShift represents a practical contribution to ongoing digital transformation in Malaysian healthcare, demonstrating the potential of intelligent web-based systems to optimize hospital operations and improve workforce coordination.

摘要
