The chapter delineates the critical function of Accident and Emergency Departments in the triage and evaluation of burn injuries, guiding patients toward suitable care environments, including specialized burn units and outpatient clinics. The adoption of a multidisciplinary approach to burn care, incorporating the expertise of burn surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, is emphasized as instrumental in optimizing patient outcomes. The chapter discusses cutting-edge advancements in burn surgery, such as the implementation of laser Doppler Imaging for early assessment of burn wound healing potential and the utilization of dermal substitutes.
