Strategic Agility in Business Models: A Framework for Post-pandemic Recovery
摘要
The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted global economies in addition to showing that traditional business models challenge the viability of organizations and the pressing need for strategic agility. Organizations that exhibited flexibility, innovation, and responsiveness, even in times of crisis, far outpaced competitors with rigid business models. The pandemic negotiated a change of the business landscape and accelerated incremental innovation from traditional business models to agile business models, which now require new ways to reconsider and refine business models going forward. The purpose of this conceptual paper is to explore strategic agility, and how it can be incorporated into business model designs towards organizational resilience and recovery. The research notes the strategic agility emerged and connects to both dynamic capabilities theory and Business Model Innovation (BMI) literature. By developing a conceptual framework demonstrating strategic agility may promote success in times of heightened volatility, this paper uses literature covering 2019–2025 to inform managers and researchers on developing agile business models for the future.
