Effect of Silica Fume Variants on the Mechanical and Permeation Characteristics of Ultra High Performance Concrete
摘要
Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) with its superior mechanical strength, durability has a wide applicability in engineering. This study explores the effects of three different variants of silica fume like grey, white, and fumed silica on the mechanical and permeation characteristics of UHPC. Experimental investigations were carried out to assess the mechanical properties of compressive and tensile strength, and durability performance through permeation. The results reveal that the type of silica fume significantly influences UHPC's performance and provides insights into optimizing sustainable UHPC mix designs using locally available silica fumes. The study will also help in using these concretes for the different requirements of structural and architectural applications appropriately.
