The use of photonics techniques keeps growing in many areas of research and applications. In this chapter, we consider the application of some these techniques to skin gloss measurements. We extend the discussion to other skin related applications such as cosmetics and dermatology and general skin characterization. Briefly, additional emerging techniques to further advance the development of integrated solutions based on the powerful techniques and portability of such measurement methods are also considered.
