Headache disorders are among the most prevalent conditions and top contributors to disability. Unlike other neurological disorders, headache-related disability is not persistent and can be improved with acute and preventive treatment. In recent years, multiple efforts have been made in the education and recognition of headache syndromes. Despite these important contributions, too many patients remain underdiagnosed, mistreated and inadequately adapted to their work or school position, contributing to the global burden of headache. In this chapter, the current situation and future directions of headache care will be revisited, addressing all the existing areas of improvement.
