The third part of the book focusses on problems present in our real, everyday world. It works on another way of analysing non-ideality in key concepts for bioethics. It abandons the usual and traditional view to explore them and takes into account their non-ideality. It focusses primarily on the concept of vulnerability and then on the concept of relational autonomy. The sixth chapter sets out how the concept of vulnerability should be analysed. It criticizes the traditional conceptualization, for example, its rigid analysis and assumptions. It proposes to think of vulnerability using the metaphor of layers. It then points out the dispositional nature of the layers of vulnerability and highlights the importance of identifying the stimulus conditions or possible elements that trigger such vulnerabilities. It also introduces the notion of cascading vulnerability that can generate incremental damage. It is also explained how this analysis includes other definitions of vulnerability, and the relations with the feminist concept of intersectionality. The central core of this part shows how our way of conceptualising the concept of vulnerability affects our resolution of it.

摘要
