Introduction
摘要
The introduction will discuss nationalist socialization as a form of political communication and analyze the conflictual language of food nationalism, specifically its construction as inextricably linked to the wider nationalist conflicts. Ethnography is the methodology used to understand how discourse shapes identities. The chapter provides a theoretical framework to contextualize the food nationalism case studies (Chaps. 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , and 6 ). It defines key terms such as nationalism and national identity. Building on the nationalist literature review, the core objective of this book is to connect ethnosymbolism to securitization theory, by arguing the following thesis: nationalist political ideology exists as part of a socialization effort, establishing differences to securitize a nation from an enemy nation.
