Arthroscopic Management of Extra-Articular Hip Disorders: Deep Gluteal Syndrome
摘要
Deep gluteal syndrome (DGS) is an umbrella term for a variety of pathologies which can cause peripheral entrapment of the sciatic nerve in the deep gluteal space. DGS can be difficult to diagnose, as symptoms and signs can vary between patients, and imaging may not reveal any obvious abnormalities. Treatments can involve physiotherapy, analgesia, steroid injections or surgery. Contemporary surgical techniques involve endoscopic visualisation and decompression of the sciatic nerve along its entire course in the deep gluteal space.
