Patient Positioning and Portal Placement in Hip Arthroscopy: Supine and Lateral
摘要
Since its first description in 1931, hip arthroscopy has greatly evolved. Advances in surgical instruments, traction devices, tables, and anatomy knowledge made it safer and more reproducible. The fact that contemporary treatment of femoroacetabular impingement may be associated with a change in the natural history of this pathology only makes this technique more relevant and attractive. To master and perform it safely, the operative setup, patient position, and articular distraction must be optimized. Several tips and a comprehensive description of the most common portals are presented in this work.
