The development of a standard operative report is an effort to encourage cooperation between surgeons in reporting from surgery so that they can compare patients. This applies both between one surgeon’s patients and between different surgeons’ patients. In research, it is important to classify and categorize the patients to be able to report on homogeneous cohorts. When arthroscopy was introduced as the preferred technique in many procedures, surgeons were able to inspect the whole joint in a totally different way compared with open surgery. To be able to describe and understand pathology, surgeons first have to learn the basic anatomy and describe the normal anatomy. In this chapter, we have suggested standard arthroscopic operative reports for the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle.

摘要
