Anterior Ankle Impingement
摘要
Anterior ankle impingement is a clinical diagnosis of pain at the anterior ankle, where typically the pain is more pronounced when the ankle is in dorsiflexion. Symptoms are caused by either bony or soft tissue impingement present in the anteromedial or anterolateral part of the ankle. Anterior ankle impingement syndrome occurs mainly in young and athletic individuals. Treatment can consist of nonsurgical management, but if it fails, arthroscopic treatment is the treatment of choice. In the literature, there is strong evidence for the success of arthroscopic treatment for anterior ankle impingement.
