Inter-organisational Network in the Healthcare Sector: Insights from Precision Medicine in Oncology
摘要
In this chapter, the authors provide an overview of the definition, evolution, and the impact of inter-organisational networks in healthcare, known as care networks. In doing this, the author reviewed the main literature about the topic, selecting as relevant the conceptual frameworks developed by Menear et al. (Health Research Policy and Systems, 17, 1–13, 2019) and Denicolai and Previtali (Technological Forecasting and Social Change, 151, 119767, 2020). In Sect. 3.2, the focus shifts to precision medicine (PM), the research setting of this book, exploring the current state of care networks in Italy. Due to the exploratory nature of the topic, the author has mapped the state of the art of such networks in Italy by conducting semi-structured interviews with industry experts during a 6-month stage at Kelyon ( https://kelyon.com ), heavily involved in defining PM networks. These interviews acted as the foundation for developing the theoretical background of the book.
