This chapter serves as a brief introduction to the theory of discrete probability, meaning the part of probability theory that can be expressed in the language of discrete mathematics. Our goal is to describe applications of the methods we have developed so far to this theory and, conversely, to point out that probabilistic ideas can be useful to the study of combinatorial problems.

摘要

This chapter serves as a brief introduction to the theory of discrete probability, meaning the part of probability theory that can be expressed in the language of discrete mathematics. Our goal is to describe applications of the methods we have developed so far to this theory and, conversely, to point out that probabilistic ideas can be useful to the study of combinatorial problems.
