We present and discuss some selected results and facts from the more than 100 years of fascinating prehistory and history of Hardy-type inequalities. The main focus is to present a fairly late discovered convexity proof. We claim that if Hardy himself or some researchers involved early had discovered this proof it could have changed this fascinating prehistory and history in a fairly crucial way. This close connection between convexity and Hardy-type inequalities can be very important for the further development, especially concerning applications of convexity and Hardy-type inequalities.
