The impact of light commercial vehicles often reduces the throughput capacity of a shared traffic lane at signalized intersections in urban conditions, where the presence of such vehicles is increased. The influence of light commercial vehicles on capacity is expressed in terms of Passenger Car Equivalents (PCE). Data collection was conducted in the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina), at a location in the central zone of the city of Doboj, where one shared lane of a four-leg intersection was analyzed under different weather conditions. By determining the follow-up headways, PCE values, and their effect on intersection capacity were analyzed. The overall measured PCE factor value for the shared lane at the intersection was 1.57, while the recommended value according to the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) was 1.50. The goal was to develop a deterministic mathematical model of the dependency for determining the PCE values of light commercial vehicles under different weather conditions as a function of vehicle queue length. The development of the mathematical model for determining PCE was based on identifying the follow-up headways of vehicles in a shared lane waiting to discharge.

摘要
