Advanced Traveller Information Systems (ATISs) are Intelligent Transportation Systems that support users in their travel choices in order to improve their perceived utility and comfort. These systems are increasingly available in public transport networks; however, despite the number of studies related to the impacts of ATISs, there are still few papers reporting on their application in cities of the Adriatic-Ionian (AI) Region. The aim of this research is to present and analyse a pilot project in the city of Novi Sad (Republic of Serbia), involving the installation of an ATIS through LED displays at bus stops and the introduction of a smartphone application. Transferability to other cities in the AI Region is discussed based on the outcomes of the project. The results show that users assess the information provided in realtime about the location and the arrival time of buses as the most significant ones and perceive the installation of the displays and the introduction of the application as a significant improvement in public transit supply.

摘要
