Exploring Multi-factor Authentication Through Wearable Technology: A Comparative Approach
摘要
This paper delves into the functional capabilities, features and security aspects of the smartwatch-based authentication scheme, enhancing user authentication in diverse applications. Building on the foundational concept introduced in earlier work, this study provides an in-depth examination of the system’s operational workflow and the technical underpinnings that ensure secure and seamless user experiences. The proposed scheme has been developed taking into consideration the drawbacks of the current schemes. A detailed analysis of major MFA schemes highlighting the advantages of the proposed system in comparison with existing MFA schemes has been done. Through our analysis and comparative study, we demonstrate the novelty of the proposed system, highlighting its unique contributions and advantages. The proposed system provides a level of security for the hardware tokens without purchasing any additional tool, striking the right balance between cost, user friendliness and security.
