The paper presents six types of windshield wiper mechanisms. For all these mechanisms, the structural-topological analysis using a parameter matrix form, and the mobility calculation using a new formula are performed. Also, the main advantages and disadvantages regarding the wiped windshield surface are outlined. The structural analysis of the wiper linkage with the tetradic chain is a premiere while the structural analysis of the complex mechanism with bars and gears with the RRT dyadic chain, outlines the use of an additional slider to calculate de mobility.
