In this chapter, the basic theory of harmonic functions developed in Chap. 2 is substantially extended and deepened. In particular, the Dirichlet problem is solved in a sufficiently general form, relying essentially on its solution in discs via the Poisson integral. Special sections are devoted to Green’s function and harmonic measure, with applications to conformal mapping.
