In this article we intend to discuss contemporary archaeology studies in Brazil, and tangentially in South America. After analyzing the trajectory of historical archaeology and contemporary issues on the region we will use some study cases that we have been working, slavery and Brazilian’s dictatorship, as examples of the potential of currently existing approaches that can generate a series of critical reflections.

摘要

In this article we intend to discuss contemporary archaeology studies in Brazil, and tangentially in South America.
